The sixth edition of the CheckThat! Lab concluded successfully, registering participation from 127 teams. This year, the Lab introduced five tasks that participants could undertake in seven different languages: Arabic, Dutch, English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish. Out of the total, 29 teams submitted system description papers, with about a third of them (a total of 37 teams) actually participating. The teams proposed and explored a variety of ideas, including the use of ChatGPT, data augmentation, and multilingual models.
The findings from these tasks will be showcased at the upcoming CLEF 2023 conference, scheduled to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from the 18th to the 21st of September, 2023. The conference will also feature presentations from the teams with the best-performing systems.
